Together the members of "Los Angeles FMS" share over 135 years of family law and related professional experience in guiding people through the minefields of relationship disputes and divorce. This includes helping parties to deal with the raw fact of relationship end at the same time as important questions concerning children, finances and property must be identified and solved. Not only do we proclaim our desire to help people to avoid the destructive reactivity that is so natural within such circumstances, we have each of us walked that talk through decades of refining our professional practices. Our highest hope is to assist people, possibly such as yourself, to transition from one stage of life into another - in a mindful and economic way.

We have found that with thoughtful and practiced guidance most people can avoid the destructive experience that court imposed solutions tend to generate (endlessly) - without sacrificing their financial and emotional safety, or the best interests of affected children. Los Angeles FMS was conceived by Gretchen W. Taylor, who retired in 2009 as a California Family Court Judge after serving for over twelve years on the Bench, and Thurman W. Arnold, III, a divorce and family law attorney since 1982. Both Judge Taylor and Mr. Arnold are Certified Family Law Specialists (State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization). Our founders also include Dr. Jane Ellen Shatz, past-President of the California Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, among many other awards and service, and two outstanding marriage and family therapists: David Hayes, M.F.T. and Karen Horwitz, M.F.T. Terry Hargrave of Hargrave & Hagrave, CPA/ABV/CFF, CFE joined Los Angeles FMS in September, 2011 - she is a pre-eminent forensic accountant and frequent continuing legal education lecturer and commentator for lawyers, judges, and other divorce accountants.
